Beer Review - King Goblin

While the dinner is cooking I thought I would take a few minutes to enjoy a beer and review said beer at the same time. To be honest this is just a poor excuse to enjoy a nice ale while waiting for the dinner to cook. Why not?

King Goblin

I am a huge fan of Wychwood brewery and their famous HobGoblin strong dark ale; so I'm really looking forward to this.

Appearance: This pours a light reddish colour with  a thick creamy head. The head dissipates after some time leaving a creamy layer for the rest of the pint and very good lacing.

Smell: Good malt up front with a fruity note and a nice hit of hops. Quite a strong hit from the alcohol too.

Taste: This is good. Initially there is some bitterness that washes over your mouth and to the back of your throat. Fruity flavours are clearly precent, hints of banana. Not much in the way of hops.

Overall: Very nice beer, hoever at 6.6% this is not a session beer.
